Low fees - implications for the building industry

As part of a program of construction industry research, CSIRO published a study in 2000 (1) that explored the factors affecting the quality of design and documentation and the impact of poor design or documentation on construction efficiency and costs. A national survey targeting architects, engineers, head contractors and major trade contractors was undertaken.
