National Construction Code (NCC) and energy efficiency

The National Construction Code (NCC) contains requirements for the design, construction and performance of buildings that architects must understand and apply. Some requirements have been in place for many years and most industry practitioners have become familiar with these. However the requirements for energy efficiency in buildings have progressively increased and widened in application since their introduction in 2003, and are likely to continue to change with the next edition of the NCC due in 2019.
