The refurbishment of Trevor Pearcey House for the new Australian Ethical Investment Headquarters was designed by Collard Clarke Jackson Architects and in 2007 was the first building in the ACT and only the third in Australia at the time to receive a 6 Star Green Star rating. More importantly it was the first wholly privately funded project to receive a six star rating. This case study provides a detailed description and evaluation of the whole process of taking an ordinary 19 year old office building and changing it to a leading example of low cost environmental design.
