Project time management is essential in the architectural design and construction process. The techniques for managing time vary for different phases and scales of projects, however, time management will generally include establishing a program with defined and sequenced activities, as well as determining the resources required and the persons responsible to carry out these activities.
A successful project time manager will generally have prompt and clear communication with all parties involved in the project, both internal and external to the architecture practice offering the services and particularly with the client (Refer Acumen note Client and architect relationship). They will also maintain proper records of any changes, contingencies, latent conditions, force majeure or other elements that may arise during the project duration which may cause time delays.
