Architecture and construction – like other cyclical industries – are driven by a number of economic events that operate individually or in combination. Such events include but are not limited to:

• interest and inflation rates (demand pull, cost push and wage inflation)
• consumer spending levels
• the value of the currency
• changes to populations and demographics
• unemployment levels
• access to affordable finance or the cost of borrowing
• the performance of other asset classes such as the share or equities markets.
