The First Nations resources provide guidance to support architects in understanding and responding to the cultural, social and environmental contexts of projects involving First Nations peoples, communities and places.
For First Nations peoples, Country encompasses more than land. It reflects the interconnected relationships between people, place, culture, knowledge and the natural environment. Understanding these relationships is fundamental to respectful and informed architectural practice.
These resources aim to support culturally informed engagement, decision-making and design by increasing awareness of First Nations perspectives, knowledge systems and connections to Country. They are intended to assist practitioners in developing respectful and meaningful approaches when working with First Nations peoples and places.
