The 2018 revised edition of the Australian Building Industry Contracts (ABIC) Basic Works (BW) commercial contract is provided below. The ABIC BW contract is intended for very small or simple projects up to a value of approximately $50,000. It is a short-form contract where almost all detail and contract information is known and specified at tender and the commencement of the work. It is best suited to projects like a commercial office fit-out or alterations and additions.
This contract is not suitable for use on domestic, housing, residential or home building work, where the project is subject to the relevant legislation in that state or territory.
